Capital Campaign

As a restarting United Methodist Community, we find ourselves in need of financial resources to repair the foundation of our sanctuary so we can use it. Currently, since our opening in August 2023, we have held worship services in our community building in the back.
We are looking forward to being able occupy the building that sits right out front making it easier for us to catch your eye and welcome you in as you pass.
Allow me to share a little about us. We began our journey in July 2023 with no members of record. We have since grown to 11 adult members and 4 preparatory members.
Ours is an outward facing ministry, our goal is to serve the community. As such, we provide space for Girl Scout meetings, HOA meeting, and youth enrichment meetings hosted by Heart4The People. We offer a weekly Creative Card Making classes, a quarterly CPR/First Aid Training, and a monthly Community Dinner every third Wednesday. These events are open to all at no cost. Our fifth Sundays are dedicated to community service. For the fifth Sunday in October, we collected 70+ blankets and throws and donated them to Henry County Senior Services for the Homebound seniors living in the county.
We know that God wants to use Mt Zion UMC, Ellenwood to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We also recognize that we are only a small part of God’s community, therefore we are reaching out to you for assistance.
This is where the ask comes in. We are now in the midst of a Capital Campaign to raise $128,000 by February 29, 2024. Yes, this year!
We know that God is not limited. Matthew 7:7 reads, “Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened.” Because we can feel God moving in this place we are asking, searching, and knocking – Plus, we know that God’s word is faithful and true. So we thank you in advance.
Join us and sow seeds of faithfulness into our ministry. 2 Corinthians 9:6 reads, “The-point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” Remember Give it will come back to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over…when you give, you give to the Lord.
How to give?
Glad you asked. You can mail a check or money order to us at Mt Zion UMC, Ellenwood, 984 Panola Rd, Ellenwood, GA 30294 or you can visit www.mtzionumcellenwood.org tap the give button and follow the directions. Or text GIVE to 404-637-0126
Thank you again for sowing so generously. May God add a blessing to the gift and giver! #ComeGrowWithUs
