Biography

Rev. Jacqueline (Jacque) M. Smith. Born the 3rd of 7 kids to Willie Idlett, Sr and the late Dorothy J. Idlett in Jacksonville, Florida. After her family moved to Atlanta, she received the lion’s share of her primary and secondary education in the Fulton and Dekalb county school systems.
She received an associate degree In Business Administration, a bachelor’s in Computer Information systems, and a bachelor’s degree In Nursing, all from Clayton State University. I also received a master’s in Human Resources Administration from Central Michigan University. Most recently received a Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology – Emory.
She is married to Joel Smith. They have three kids and six grandkids. A retired Human resource Professional, she spent over 20 years in corporate management. Jacque has worked for non-profit and for-profit organizations. She has trained leaders as well as welcomed new staff.
Has led projects as well as having been a member of many teams working to create an excellent product. Served as Girl Scout Service Unit Leader for Southeast Dekalb for six years and served as a Clayton County Rape Crisis Counselor. She worked with the Finance Committee for AIDS Atlanta. She is active in her HOA and has been a board member.
Her home church is Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, located In Conley Ga for decades. Responsibilities Included –Sunday school teacher –teacher’s assistant – treasurer – council board member – a trustee – finance secretary – choir member – liturgist – children’s moment person – a member of the Esther Dorcas UMW unit – Council Chair – trustee chair – finance chair –president of the choir – Nurture Co-chair – VBS Coordinator – SPPRC member – Graduate of Lay Leadership UMC – Member of District Committee on Superintendency – a member of the District Strategic Growth Committee, the Black Church Development Cohort, the North Georgia Academy for Leadership and Innovation, and the Sabbath Life Cohort. She has also served as an at-large delegate to the North Georgia Annual Conference for the Central South District and the Atlanta Decatur Oxford District.
She served as Lead Pastor of Spring Hill United Methodist Church in Covington, Georgia. She is a Provisional Elder in the North Georgia Annual
Conference. And currently serves as Senior Pastor at Mt Zion United Methodist Church, Ellenwood, Georgia.

Location

We are growing a new faith community from a church that previously stood head and shoulders above others. Our goal is to be an inclusive church reflecting the wonderful array of people God has placed in the Ellenwood area.
